Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (NMLPW), also known as Lab Week, is an annual celebration to honor the medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in every aspect of health care. NSH and other medical organizations want to show our support and gratitude for the hard work laboratory professionals do each and every day.

Have Some Fun with Your Colleagues
Playing games with your lab is always a fun way to celebrate Lab Week and connect with your colleagues. Here are some suggestions from our Histology Professionals Facebook Group to make the week fun for you and your team.
- Lab Matching Game: Ask each member in your lab what job they had prior to working in the lab. In the left column, list the names of all the lab members and in the right column list all the jobs they had (mixed up, of course!). Hand-out the game and ask your team to draw a line connecting what colleague worked at which job. See who gets the most answers correct!
- Guess Who?: Ask everyone in your lab to bring pictures of themselves when they were toddlers. Make a display of the pictures and have staff guess who they think the staff member is. The staff member with the most right guesses wins the prize!
- Price is Right: Take inventory of common lab supplies (EX: cost of a case of biopsy pads, for one gallon of xylene, for a box of microtome blades) and see if staff can guess the price.
- Picture Game: Take zoomed in pictures of things in the lab and have staff find them.
- Scavenger Hunt: Give everyone in the lab a picture of one item they need to find hidden throughout the lab. Staff is only allowed to They were only allowed to find their assigned item.
